Dear Mr. *****,
thank you for your request autoaid.de.

The following information reached us:
  • VW Golf IV 1.9 TDI (AHF / ASV)
  • symptoms: no symptoms mentioned
  • DTC: 18034

A blind diagnosis without concrete symptoms isn't easy.

However, that's the information I can give you:
The mentioned error code 18034 (P1625) means: Powertrain Data Bus: no Message from TCM. So the communication between ECM and TCM has a CAN malfunction.
The MIL should be active in your instrument cluster.

In most cases this kind of fault is caused by faulty wiring and/or faulty connector(s).
So check wiring and connectors from and to the Transmssion Control Module [J217]. Are there any broken cables, short circuits or losse contacts? It could be a corrored or damaged cable.

I hope this information will help you to solve your problem.
